Mary Eileen McDonnell is an American actress who has appeared in television, film and stage. She was born on April 28 1953. She was nominated for the Academy Award nomination for her performance as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and she is well-known for her role as the President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica as the wife of President on Independence Day and for her prominent role in Donnie Darko as the titular character's mother.
